The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) COVIDWISE Verification Portal allows individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 to obtain a verification code for Virginia’s Exposure Notification tools - COVIDWISE & COVIDWISE Express.
If you have not downloaded the COVIDWISE mobile app yet, it is available for free on the iPhone App Store or Android Google Play Store. For more information about COVIDWISE and VDH’s Exposure Notifications tools, please visit COVIDWISE.org.
VDH assigns a verification code to anyone who receives a positive COVID-19 test result. Verification codes prevent COVIDWISE users from submitting false test results. Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 can choose to enter their verification code into the COVIDWISE mobile app or COVIDWISE Express. This will then allow the app to anonymously notify other COVIDWISE users you have been in close contact with that they may have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. You will need to have Exposure Notifications enabled on your mobile device for at least 24 hours before you can utilize notifications. COVIDWISE only collects your verification code and does not collect or share any personally identifying information about you.
If you have questions about your test results, please contact the provider or facility that performed your COVID-19 test. If you tested positive for COVID-19, you should stay at home and away from others for at least 5 days from the date your symptoms first began, or from the date of your first positive viral test for COVID-19 if you never had any symptoms. If you are fever-free and other symptoms have improved after 5 days, you may leave isolation if you can continue to mask for 5 additional days to minimize the risk of infecting others. Tell your close contacts that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
